Choose your first online income route in one hour

Getting started6 minute readbeginner

A decision process that narrows twelve routes down to the one you should test first — based on your country, time and budget rather than on what sounds exciting.

Start from constraints, not ideas

Most beginners choose a route because it looked exciting in a video. Then they discover it needs equipment they do not own, hours they do not have, or a payout method that does not reach their country.

Work in this order instead.

1. Write down your real constraints
  • Hours per week you can sustain for three months
  • Money you can spend without stress (often zero)
  • Equipment you actually have today
  • Whether you can receive international payments, and how
  • Whether you are willing to be visible on camera
2. Eliminate, do not compare

Cross out every route that fails any constraint. A route that needs a laptop when you only have a phone is not a candidate, however good it is.

3. Score what is left

For each remaining route, score 1-5 on: speed to a first payment, fit with skills you already have, and how much you would enjoy doing it in month six. Add the three numbers.

4. Pick one and set a 30-day test

Commit for 30 days. One route. Write the date in your calendar when you will review it, and decide in advance what would make you continue or stop.

What this protects you from

Switching routes every ten days. The people who earn online are rarely the ones who found the cleverest idea — they are the ones who stayed with an ordinary idea long enough to get good at it.
